Wind noise and buffering in Hyundai Palisade

I truly believe they are going to get this thing figured out. Hyundai hasn't gotten to where they are now, from lack of customer service, that's for sure. Hell, Genesis just beat Lexus in the JD and power reliability list. The very first time they were on it. That is very impressive.
I just don't know how the Palisade made it through preproduction testing with this issue, before production even got started in the first place. It is truly inexcusable.
Because not every Palisade is affected. Hard to find an issue on a pre-production unit if it doesn't have the issue.

I had my Palisade in three times and they did not fix the wind noise. My complaint to Hyundai was initially handled well but then quickly deteriorated. Someone in their California customer service department named Maria was totally rude and refused to discuss it after I told her it was not acceptable.

But that TSB does fix some people's cars.

You say you're going to get your windows "Tun" replaced. I assume you mean the glass "run". That's one of the items on the TSB. If it fixes your issue, will you agree that Hyundai and the TSB provided a fix? Until you have tried everything on the TSB, how can you claim Hyundai hasn't addressed your issue?

As to suing Hyundai, good luck with that. Every car has some type of recall or TSB, particularly new models. The Palisade is actually in better shape than many other new cars when it comes to how many issues have been found.

I totally get the frustration, but to post a message asking everyone to go complain, when Hyundai has clearly taken steps to address this is a little extreme. A lot of people have been satisfied with the fix. Others not. They may have a case if everything on the TSB has been tried.

As to people reporting that Hyundai is no longer authorizing repairs based on the TSB, that's interesting. I'd like to see what comes next. They obviously know it's a problem, so if I had to guess, they found something and they're going to provide a new TSB. Sadly, NHTSA takes forever to update their website, so we'll be relying on folks going to their dealerships. Please let us know. Which, by the way, shows that they are working on it and not ignoring it.

I have had everything done including new strips, new mirror and the TSB. Still not fixed so I filed a com-Laing with HYUNDAI Corp. The response was HORRIBLE. I was shocked at the representative’s rudeness and tone. I also encourage everyone to file a complaint.

I had the wind noise on the driver side. Dealer ordered and replaced the trim on the outside of the window. It seems better but won’t know for sure until I get back on the interstate.

Tell the to give you a loaner..keep the Palisade until fixed...

Is anybody else experiencing a very loud wind noise on the driver side of the car at higher speeds. Mine is so loud it hurts my ears. I am going to take it to the dealer, but wondered if anyone else was experiencing it or took it into the dealer.

Yes I have the same problem wind noise on driver window.

I don't own a Palisade but I did check out the forums and it seems lots of problems. Anyways, check out this forum website that someone has a solution by inserting a tube foam into the door sill. Hope this helps.

On my limited the window run front drivers side was replaced and it actually made it worse. Passenger side front window has the same wind issues. I have been by the dealership three times on the wind issues and it’s obvious no one there has a clue. I would like Corporate Hyundai to at least acknowledge there is an issue and a permanent fix is on way. As someone mention earlier the shotgun fixes (TSB’s) they have been throwing at this problem for the most part are not working. HYUNDAI needs to step up to the plate and resolve the issue. 😡

Lets keep in mind all of the wasted hours, gas, and needless aggrevation that owners of the NEW Palisade have gone through, taking their vehicle to the dealership for repair.
Agree with what you have stated..

Not really. You have a very vocal minority and one (wind noise) more common problem. There are a few other things that have popped up in limited numbers, but far from lots of problems compared to a lot of new cars.

Thanks for putting that in much better perspective. I remember when the Subaru Ascent first hit the market, it had a massive recall for structural welds that were omitted from some during manufacturing. I will take the minor in comparison Palisade issues over that any day. The foam in the front of the window channel pretty much works to quell most of the wind noise on our SEL, however, I am still holding out for a more permanent well finished fix. I am not real sure how the foam will hold up long term. At least it is quieter though. Build date is Nov 2019 by the way.

I suspect that with all the TSB antics going on regarding wind noise that Hyundai is working a more permanent fix. We just all need to be patient. It's not like they're ignoring the problem and refusing to admit there's an issue.

And I'd much rather a window that's a little noisy than structural welds failing.

Dont really care about Subaru welds..the issue is ..Hyundai is jerking owners around ..communication is lacking.

They issued a TSB within a few months of the vehicle coming out and then continued working the issue when that didn't seem to fix the problem, pulling those TSBs and have basically said a more permanent fix is coming shortly.

I'm not entirely sure what more you could reasonably ask for.

A letter to owners from Hyundai that a fix is being sought...not wishful thinking or assumptions from Service Managers...lets imagine an owner trying to sell the vehicle if it has wind noise ..good luck ...paid for a standard that is not being met ...time and money lost ..including depreciation...and a month from now there will still be the same problem ..

That is absolutely never going to happen and is a completely unreasonable expectation to think would ever happen. If you can find a single example of a manufacturer EVER doing such a thing as sending a letter out to all the people that have purchased a vehicle letting them know that they're working on a fix for a non-safety related issue that only effects some buyers, I will absolutely shocked.

If you want real recourse for this, keep taking the car in to the dealer to have it fixed and if it isn't fixed within your state lemon-law guidelines, pursue a buy back.

Agreed. I have been to the dealership 3 times now. Each day, I have to work from home and then my wife has to take me back to the dealership at the end of the day. They also leave my car running a lot at the dealership, so I know I am getting ripped off on the gas as well.
