Wind noise and buffering in Hyundai Palisade

I had whistling and some wind noise. The foam I added cured both.

maybe i’m calling it the wrong word? it’s like that helicopter noise that happens when you crack open one back window. the problem is the sound is very light and muted and not everyone is as sensitive to the pressure. and if you are on a road with a lot of noise, bumps like the route they test drive then it may be hard to hear. I asked for them to ride with me so I can replicate it for them but they were not receptive of that. I will reapproach this but I am hoping the wind noise correction will correct it. in the meantime next time i’m near them I will find a route that I can hover at 35-37 or 55-57. every time my ears bother me it’s that range of speeds every time. they test drive in a congested area with a lot of stoplights
I just leased the calligraphy i have wine noise but nothing above average

So it looked like from recent threads the palisades manufactured after Oct 2019 were ok with wind noise issues but I just bought a 2021 and there is such a loud buffering and pressure around 35-55mph that I have to pop my ears from the pressure that builds in the cabin, anyone else?
Yes

Does anyone know if 2021 models still have that issue ? I'm assuming it's a matter of proper window/door alignment with proper weather-stripping that leaves no gaps and applies needed pressure on glass. Considering some had it while others don't - that has to be a first year assembly tolerance and gaps issue. Hopefully it's been sorted.

I have a 2020 Palisade and the noise is horrible to include a whistling sound when I drive 70 mph. I can hear people talking outside of my vehicle two cars away and they are not on the phone and my windows are up. As soon as I start to drive the noise is horrible and I have to blast my radio to drown out the wind noise. I have taken my vehicle back and the dealer stated they are waiting for Hyundai to tell them how to fix it because its already on the Technical Service Bulletin (TSB) for complaints. I am surprise the 2021 is doing that........ I drove a 2006 Cadillac Escalade and my vehicle was really quiet no problem like I am having now. Pay to much money to have this issue. I'm still working with them to figure this out. Oh yeah, to answer the question..."Did I test drive it? Yes, I did and it didn't have this issue at all.

Waiting for Hyundai to tell them how to fix it..... Thank I needed a good laugh ! Mention to them you would like a comparable loaner until Hyundai
Gives them fix.

We had a similar problem thought it was the sunroof. Turns out it the door seal on the passenger side. Once it was replaced the wind noise went away. Hope this helps

Had some heavy rains overnight recently and was able to take two interesting pictures.

I don't have wind noise problems unless it's REALLY windy or I'm driving 60+ into a strong crosswind so I've been able to ignore it. But this would seem to show where the problem lies in my car.

Thoughts?

When my car had a wind whistle, I would also have extra noise when hit with a hard cross wind. Now all the extra wind noises are gone.
Have you done the foam fix as listed in other threads? It’s a cheap fix which should correct your water and wind issues.

Personally that did not fix it for me. My whistle has gone, but driving in the chicago area, on 40 mph roads even with 5mph winds or no tree movement the wind noise is way more apparent in front of the car and it sounds like a window is open still, just not whistling. One of the biggest annoyances of it is that you end up having to crank up the radio to muffle up the sound which makes for a less pleasant driving experience. Hyundai corporate contacted me yesterday saying there is still no update on this issue at the corporate level so they asked me how I want to move forward. I asked them what my options were and they are escalating it I guess, but ultimately as I have had 3 repair attempts I proactively told them the only options I am seeing are:
#1 - Hyundai to commit to a more concrete timeline or plan to get it fixed. I understand there is a pandemic but this has been an issue for over a year now and all I get told is there is no update. There should be more informed updates, ie, we have tried this and this, and now trying this, or we have techs meeting on this date and then plan to test our solution on this date. Maybe thats unrealistic but as a consumer I don't trust them when I just hear 'we still have no update.' There has to be a way to provide something more concrete than that...
#2 - Reimburse or credit for keeping a lemon
#3 - Return the car - this is the last option as I would prefer not to do this as it comes at a cost and the new 2021 limited has lost features.

It really hasn't been a big deal. I'd also prefer to hold the dealer accountable if I feel it becomes one.
Now that I have proof, I'll schedule something with the dealership to see what they say.

My observation...recently driving at 65 + mph..I dropped the drivers window down about 5 inches. The glass was shaking far more than it had in any car I have owned, plus when grasping the glass it moves and has too much play and slack, and appears thin and flimsy.
As far as Hyundai solving the wind noise issue, well I gave up hope 6 months ago or more.

I so wanted to buy this car. This issue is such a let down. So sad I have to continue looking. I also learnt that the KIA Telluride has an engine overheat common problem. My, my!

All cars have issues if you’re searching owner forums.

What is that about? The Palisade has the same engine and transmission and haven't heard of any Palisade problems of that kind.

As there are lots of threads on this, has anyone done a video or series of detailed pictures to show the foam rope fix? I will do this tomorrow if I can find something like that!
