Wind noise and buffering in Hyundai Palisade

I certainly hope not, but we are probably only months away from the 2021 models to come out, so 🤷‍♂️
I can't say for sure when the change will be made to fix this problem, but automakers do make changes to specific parts during the same model year if there is a clear problem. They don't wait until the end of the model year to fix something, unless you are talking about a major change, or something that will change the specifications of the vehicle. Sometimes they may wait longer than the next model year if they haven't figured out how to fix it.

This is evident when looking at the Hyundai parts catalog online (dealers who sell parts online) and seeing part number changes in the middle of the model year based on VIN number, not just model year.

One reason to not make the change right away is that if only a small number of people complain, and they already have a lot of the old parts on hand, and don't want to throw them away. But they have to figure out how much it will cost them to go back a do warranty work to fix the problem after the fact, which can be quite expensive in terms of labor.

And we all keep guessing and hoping,as the days, weeks, and months go by ..

Well, as a prospective Palisade buyer, I will wait to see how this plays out.

Don’t buy a palisade go Toyota or Kia
Toyota Highlander 2020 owners are reporting similar problems. In fact, the top trim level is no longer for sale because Toyota has issues a "stop sale" on them, for some undisclosed reason.

If I owned a Palisade (which I may at some point in the future) I would take it to a auto sound shop and ask them to put some extra sound deadening material in the doors and plug up any air leaks that might be making a noise. This is standard procedure for a high-end stereo install. Some people can do it themselves.

they have been making cars for a long time now, instead of all this high tech crap, they should focus on the basics. I also bought a Toyota Corolla for 20K, and the Corolla is by far a better quality car than the Palisade. When I spend 40K on a Palisade, I would assume the car would have been tested for major defects. It shows poor quality control.

The "quality control" of the new 2020 Toyota Highlander has been just as bad as the Palisade. Same for the new Acura RDX.

People who buy first year models should know there are usually going to be some risks with regard to certain design issues (I would not call it quality).

The 2020 Corolla has 2 recalls. 1 for the Palisade. The list of TSBs for the Corolla. is quite long as well.

All cars have issues. The Palisade is really not bad compared to most.

Toyota might or might not have great reliability but I would also like to have a vehicle I enjoy looking at instead of an origami contraption done in middle school.
Or one that just makes you want to feed it from the front.

Yes. I can not comprehend how someone could put something like this in their driveway.

Exactly what I pictured when I made that comment. The Avalon and also the new non SE/XSE Camry. Maybe they just back in the driveway, so they don't have to look at it, or just leave the garage light off.
Kind of ironic Palisade owners would be saying that though. The front end style of the Palisade certainly has it's critics too. I happen to love the contemporary look of it. The style and presence of those DRLs combined with that grill is unlike any other vehicle in this segment.

We have Toyota’s, Chevys and Buick’s for fleet cars. They are all about the same really. At 70K miles serious things start to go wrong. My company car is a 2017 Avalon Touring. It’s in the shop right now getting the right back VVTi repaired. $3,500 repair as the motor has to be dropped. My 2014 Avalon broke a cam gear. My 2011 Avalon had electric gremlins and lost the sunroof and NAV system.

For those of you frustrated by Hyundai USA, I highly recommend you file a claim with them. So far they’ve made two of my monthly payments for us as compensation.......over $1,300 so far.

You may not be, but not as easy as making your payment. I couldn’t see not financing 60mos @1.9%. Municipal bonds are yielding 6% tax free in NC. Waste of money to pay cash for a vehicle when money is cheap. Earning 6% tax free on $40K is nice.
