Sharp edge on front doors

There's a FB Palisade owner's group?

so that dude, assuming it's a dude (?), gashed his leg on the passenger door?

The doors do have that extra trim piece bolted to the bottom so maybe it does stick out a little further than some cars, but with proper spatial awareness it shouldn't happen more than once at most.

There are several Palisade facebook groups with tons of posts each day.

As far as it shouldn't happen more than once, one person showed pics of their 2nd incident lol. The first scar had not yet healed when the 2nd incident occurred.

One person said a rear passenger had opened their door. This left limited room for the driver to get out somehow. They tried to close the driver door while standing against the fully opened passenger door, and this is how they got cut on the lower leg.

Not sure about the rest of the incidents. I should probably use my hands to feel the bottom corner of my driver door and see if there is any kind of sharp edge on mine.

My gash wasn't as wide as KnotGillty's, but drew about the same amount of blood when fresh. Take your lower leg and drag it across that edge, then imagine shutting the door somewhat quick. I've never had such issues on any other car, it might be that the corner of the door sticks out further than most others.

FYI - I've got the 2020 Limited, I don't see how tall you are matters much.

Made me look closely today and yes, the edge is on the sharper side and the angle of the bottom edge does make it protrude a bit.

I can see how it may present an issue..more concerned with the water the gets trapped inside..today I left the door open and could see the water dripping
Slowly.

How about once you realize the door edge protrudes, you are more spatially aware of the door to your leg? I can see a passenger getting caught by surprise, but now an owner; well, not an owner that has been bitten already.

These are marketed as family haulers. My kids are grown now, but for people with small children sharp edges may be an issue.

Yes, me too. I was parked on a down hill slope that puts the bottom of the door at just the right angle. Bloody mess. I googled "sharp palisade door" and here I am.

Same thing happened to me this morning on our 2021 model. We were on the way into Disney World with family and I got to dab blood off my leg all the way in until it finally stopped. Never cut my leg on a door like that before.

no gash from the door, but did manage to smash my shin on my hitch receiver after towing my motorcycle. ugh.

The door snake got me and wife twice but Hyundai acts like its no problem. When do we sue?

Now that you know where the door edge is, you can avoid closing it on your legs - no problem.

Here is the Day of and 3 months later - still have a red line on the side of my leg. 😠
