Wind noise and buffering in Hyundai Palisade

About 380 miles on my Limited. Last night, I got the whistle/wind noise for the first time. It was unusually cold here in North Carolina (30's); I wondered if the cold was impacting the seals. I took it to the dealer today (whistle/wind noise on the way there; still in 30's). They took it right into service, and were well aware of the whistle/wind noise issue. After about an hour, they called me and said the tech found some plastic material that should have been removed at prep. They said he removed it, and the whistling/wind noise stopped. I was suspect of this and my look must have reflected that. They said they would order the replacement seals that the TSB recommends and install them when they arrived just to be sure. They were very supportive and seemed to be all over this issue. I left and to my surprise, the whistle/wind noise was gone! I wish I had more details about where the plastic was that they removed, but I don't. Just wanted to share this with everyone.

Hopefully gone for good, but only time will tell. Thanks for you post.

Every mechanic I take it to can not solve my issue even with a copy of the TSB in their hand. I know theres 4 possible fixes they tried them all and none of it did anything. Did anyone successfully resolve this? The questions I'm getting to is I live in Madison, WI anyone solve this that lives in the midwest? I'll drive to another wisconsin dealer / illinois dealer to solve this just trying to figure out if anyone around me has gotten this resolved.
I would look for an excellent auto body shop. If you can locate a real good and experienced " body man " he may solve your problem or tell you what the issue is. I would bring along the TSBs with me... Or better yet ..tell them you want a new Palisade ...

I live in South Dakota and continue to get the whistling even after the 2 TSBs were performed on ours. We constantly have wind here so it has become VERY annoying. Below is a video from yesterday where it was again the high pitch whistle.

Hello everyone, I was looking on the internet for feedback regarding the 2020 Palisade. I am 6 weeks in with mine which is the Ultimate. I travel extensively for business, which means I am in the car for long periods of time each day. The wind noise is truly a flaw to the point my phone conversations, people think I have the window open a bit. I just had my first oil change and asked the service manager to check it out. I advised you need to travel over 80 kph to hear it. He agreed there is noise. He went back to dealership and drove another model from their lot, same issue. It seems the window moves when it is down more so than any other car i have had. I am not a auto designer but maybe the seals need to be either set differently or a different style put on. It is to the point where I am experiencing head aches from the noise. Looking for feedback if anyone else has experienced it or how to report it directly to Hyundai.

Glad to see what your non repair was to correct the noise..as my limited with 225 miles..built Nov.27th is fine so far..

I would go to a different dealer. Did they even try to attempt the TSB?
There is a TSB for replacement parts. Must be a huge problem as they are on backorder up to 6 months! My limited has this as well as the cursed vibration issue. Ive got a loaner till mine is “fixed”! Proud owner for two weeks.

Who told you there was up to a 6 month backorder for parts?

Dropped mine off at the dealer this morning. The service manager was VERY AWARE that almost all Palisades have this issue and expected the wind noise problem to probably turn into a Recall at some point once they find a "FIX ALL" fix. My 2nd or 3rd row seats squeak like hell too, so they are looking into that.

I'm assuming they will have to order parts for the wind noise so I am guessing it won't be fixed today. I'll let you all know what they say.

Took my limited in on Friday for the wind noise TSB, Got it back after a two hour wait and there was no change in the noise, drivers side. Passenger side has wind noise too. Aggravated, I’ve owned three other’s Hyundai with really no issues. I personally don’t think Hyundai can fix the wind noise issue by just replacing parts unless there redesigned. JS

I am hoping that they will figure out they need to use a thicker, higher quality, door seal. The black , soft seal material seems extremely cheap and not thick.

You could be correct.Perhaps that is why some of the complaints do not surface right away..the seals may be weak or cheaply made and after the vehicle is used for a while the noises begin. My limited two weeks old still seems ok. The good news is..this problem should be an easy fix in the scheme of things..

I just got the call back. For the wind noise, they adjusted the door panels apparently. They said they fixed the wind noise, but I'll be the judge of that.

check window seals when the air is on you can hear it and it changes sound with changing blower speed, put a piece of masking tape in the bottom corner of window on the inside and the noise should change if not go away

Does anyone know if this problem has been fixed at manufacturing in Korea? Do the newest Palisades coming out still have this problem? Was there a build date after which this problem was eliminated?

Thanks for that info on the two cars built on November 25 and 27 with no wind noise. I am going to wait until Hyundai has completely eliminated the Palisade wind noise issue before I pull the trigger.

I have an October 26th build date with no wind noise. But I think the window seals are very picky about how well they are installed.

So I was washing the car and noticed a piece of foam in between the glass trim. Is that normal or does that look like one of the fixes? This is in the driver side door just behind the side mirror.
