Remarkable, how a company this size calls this a fix....looks like something a highschool kid would do to his first junk car to correct wind noise.. what if the foam falls out and or gets wet...lolMy 10/10/19 build has that piece of foam also. It also does have the window noise issue problem but not from the front of the window. The noise is from the back of the front window.
6 month back order is unacceptable. I would for sure ask for my money back. My SEL AWD Convenience is back for the 3rd time. I'm currently working with corporate for a dealer buyback or manufacture repurchase. I was told that they prefer the dealer buyback b/c it's the cheaper easier route. The only thing that's unfortunate about my situation is I carpool 40 minutes about twice a week and while they were waiting for a loaner I had no choice but to drive. Luckily I took the vehicle in about the issue about a week or two after purchase.T
There is a TSB for replacement parts. Must be a huge problem as they are on backorder up to 6 months! My limited has this as well as the cursed vibration issue. Ive got a loaner till mine is “fixed”! Proud owner for two weeks.
Is anybody else experiencing a very loud wind noise on the driver side of the car at higher speeds. Mine is so loud it hurts my ears. I am going to take it to the dealer, but wondered if anyone else was experiencing it or took it into the dealer.
I believe if you have it that is the window run you are looking to get installed, this sponge like material was not present before they put in the new window run and like I mentioned it seems the sponge is built into the new window run.My Pally has the same piece of foam or sponge but the wind noise fix has not been applied yet. Waiting for dealer to receive the window run.
So I was washing the car and noticed a piece of foam in between the glass trim. Is that normal or does that look like one of the fixes? This is in the driver side door just behind the side mirror.

Hello guys, i have not read the full thread yet. I read other thread/posts and I came across a post saying that turning on the button to recirculate air helps the wind noise in the window. I also hear wind noise just right above my left ear near the window but not as bad as the ones that was posted in youtube. This mornings commute was windy so I thought I try it and it actually worked!!!. I cannot explain why but for sure it is an engineering flaw. Hope it helps you.
Even if turning the ventilation on stops the noise, this is not normal for a new vehicle to have this type of issue, it’s definitely a flaw. I’ve owned many brands of vehicles both new and old and never came across something like this. Since the TSB fix, my Palisade is much better, more quieter than before. Don’t settle folks and don’t let the dealer or Hyundai make excuses.I think the theory here is that when the ventilation system is opened to outside air the pressure inside the cabin is high and the so called wind noise is actually air escaping out the window seal area. So it is air leaking out, not in. When the system is set up to recirculate the interior air the pressure is more contant and not high enough to force a leak out.
