Wind noise and buffering in Hyundai Palisade

You may not be, but not as easy as making your payment. I couldn’t see not financing 60mos @1.9%. Municipal bonds are yielding 6% tax free in NC. Waste of money to pay cash for a vehicle when money is cheap. Earning 6% tax free on $40K is nice.
6% may be the coupon rate, but since the bonds are now selling for more than par value, the effective yield if bought today is less than 2.0% (and if yielding 2% they are not highly rated in terms of risk).

Bought a year ago. I’m good. Almost never a good idea to pay cash for a vehicle when money cost is below 2%.

Exactly...let me just say this...I am very well educated regarding the financial markets..6% muni..is junk ..if it does in fact exist..

No car payment, I would say that is very lucky, and that you are certainly doing something right.
Thank you..learned the priorities of life at a young age...and with a little luck it was the formula to success.

At 47, I wish I could go back and change quite a few things. Guess some people never learn though. Me included.

wish I could change a few things also...Like buying this car LOL !
I think you are forcefully making yourself feel bad without much reason. As others have pointed out, this car gets glowing reviews all over the place. Every vehicle has its weaknesses including Hondas and Toyotas, the benchmarks in reliability. I would approach it more from a point of its superiority compared to other vehicles. Besides wind noise, what else do you feel is substandard? And I am sure, at one point, either Hyundai or somebody more clever than them, will come up with a solution to that.

I am still firmly planning to get the Palisade after my current lease runs out as there really isn't anything else which comes close to what these vehicles provide at their price point. And if, at that point, there still are noise problems, I will have a shop spray the inside of doors with rhino skin, foam or similar material.

You guys are doing it wrong if you can't overcome 2% money cost easily and safely. Hell my annuities crush that. But if you guys no better and want to pay cash for vehicles......whom am I to argue with the "experts".

Annuities. Now that's a swell investment, well at least for the person selling them..

It’s what you buy after you max your pension, 401K and still want to diversify. Again you guys are experts so just keep paying cash for cars. Clearly you figured it out. I already paid my house off once and am currently refinancing at 2.5% for 15 years so I can reinvest again. Just looking for an entry point. Have fun fellas.

Back on topic - make sure you call Hyundai USA, 10 minutes = $1,300 and counting for me. Don’t settle for less.

That I actually don't want to change, I really like our Palisade alot. Just want to see that permanent fix to make it just about perfect.

That's a really good idea. It would be like a bank vault if you did.

With the 2 payments made by Hyundai we’re down to a net $43K-ish for our Limited. We’ll never be upside down on this vehicle so I still believe the Palisade was a good deal. My test is if you can finance for 60mos with $0 down and never be upside down you did well. Wish I could say the same for my 2019 Z06. The wind noise in the Z is pretty loud as well.

Chevy Vette is fun fast car..my last one was 2016...sold it because I did not have time for it.The 2020 is one great car..too bad the strike delayed production.

Yup, I had a 2016 Callaway Z06 and sold it to buy the 2019. Did decent on both, 2016 was 20% OFF MSRP (top left below) and the 2019 was 17% OFF MSRP. Doubt I’ll be that lucky with my 2022 C8 Z06.

Did you order a C8. That car has an incredible bang for the buck quotient. Doug Demuro just reviewed on, and also like it alot. Can't wait to see the Z06.

I should have read your next post, disregard my last question. Can't wait to see your Z06.

Hyundai sent me an online survey and wanted me to rate my Palisade. I mentioned the wind noise quite a few times, and ranked the quality a 6, because of it too. The only other thing I mentioned, was that all trim levels need to come equipped with LED headlights, just like some of it's competitors

Not ordering a C8 until the Z06 is out for 2 years, so thinking 2022.
