Prices Paid

This is what I am looking for. I’m all the way in Billings, but I messaged them anyways. The dealer here I talked to was nice but said they aren’t moving more than 500 on price.

For anyone looking, we were just at Dick Hannah in Portland, Oregon and they want to move the Palisades and are willing to deal. We test drove an SEL with convenience and premium packages and a few other odds and ends that i didn't pay attention to. The MSRP was @42,650 and they showed some local markup of almost $3000 making their price almost $45600. They were willing to sell it today for $38650 ($4000 under MSRP).

Hi Kirbo,
Would you mind telling me who to talk to there? And double checking - they didn’t mark it up again after the 38,650? A different dealer who is closer to me that I am talking to says the whole hot car, add on sticker thing is happening at other dealers and the 4K is probably not right.
based on new year coming in, I think it is right but I thought I’d check.

They were willing to sell for about $38600. That was before tax, licensing and fees. They did have the extra listed on the car (regional markup, I think it said) and that was about $3000. TBH, we didn't sit down and sign anything, so I suppose they could have done a bait and switch, but I didn't get that vibe from them. I think they want to move the 2020s as the 2021s are coming in in the next weeks. Also, I think the Limited is the one that really sells and this was an SEL with options.

Thanks. I just heard from someone there via email. She was really nice. I think the other dealer is mistaken.

Cool. They had eight on the lot (I think it was four SEL and four Limited) and I liked them there. I hope you get exactly what you're looking for. Also, if you get a great price from them, you might be able to call the place closer to you to see if they'd match it.

I received a call from the “internet manager” from a dealership west of Houston. He told me that since the 2021s were about to arrive, they were only asking for MSRP on the 2020s. I asked him if they were coming off of the sticker price at all on the 2020’s and he said no. I then told him that other dealers were selling for less than sticker.
I guess I appreciate the call and him saving me a trip to their dealership!

It's crazy to me how different it is in various parts of the US. Dick Hannah in Portland, OR has most of their 2020s listed online for close to $2k off MSRP and we were offered even more off. They want to move them to make room for 2021s. I hope you find what you're looking for at a price you like.

Ok, so I ended up contacting Dick Hannah in Portland today and the price offered on Friday (when we said no) is not the price they are willing to go to today. But, for anyone interested on an SEL with premium and convenience packages and a bench seat, they have one that they are willing to sell for $39845 (MSRP on it is $42645). It's the lagoon silver with light beige leather interior. We test drove it and it was lovely (but I want black interior) and we didn't notice any wind noise. We actually got lost and put about 20 miles on it (much of it freeway).

They were not able to do anything for me. Sounds like they are not motivated. Too bad. I was excited. I’m probably going to look for something else.

Received Cotsco offer today Capital Hyundai Greensboro, NC. Can I do better?

Looks good to me. Couldn't do much better off that a few weeks ago near Raleigh. Now, I'm jealous.

At this late stage of the model year, and knowing what we know of the Caligraphy trim, you know what you want in your Palisade and it should make your decision clearer.

The 2021 Limited is losing content now being reserved for the Caligraphy model. With the Calligraphy model you get the wheels that everyone has panned, but maybe you'll like them. If you like the "suede" headliner, the quilted door panels, the LED rear taillight trim then you should get the 2020 Limited. I don't see others finding much better deals than your Costco offer for a Limited AWD, and at least it's a no-haggle price and deal for you.

This is a good video to show the differences between the 2020 and 2021 Limited trim:

I'm sorry to hear that. I got a good feeling about them when we test drove the car. But it had the wrong interior (I really don't want light interior). Roy, the day manager, and Reno, the salesman, really wanted us to buy the SEL and said they'd make a "stupid" deal for us. They said they'd do $38645. We just didn't want to do the car right then. Well, of course we second guessed ourselves two days later and called them back. At that point they'd only go down to $39845 for it. We tried to get them back down to the $38645 but they wouldn't do it. And to be honest, if it didn't have the right color inside, I din't want to buy it. For that price, we'd have jumped on it if it had the black interior. We need black interior and the bench seat.

Have you looked on the hyundaiusa.com site for a dealer who has what you want? If you go for a 2020 try and get one with the driver guidance package. You will be glad you did

I'd love to hear what you love so much about that. It's the option that I don't really care about so hearing why others love it would be good.

It's harder than you'd imagine to find an SEL with black leather and a bench seat. We don't have a favorite exterior color but don't want white or black if possible. I have used the Hyundai site to find cars and they are all fairly far away from us. I'm currently talking to a dealer almost 200 miles from us with the configuration we want (but not the driver guidance) but someone is test driving it today and my guess is they'll buy it.

If you post what area of the country you are in, someone may see one and post it for you

I have not been able to find any 2021 Calligraphy models near me yet, Warren, OH, at east within 100 miles. I am wondering when dealers will start seeing these in stock? What would be a fair price for the 2021 Calligraphy?

Just wondering what experiences people have had with the Palisades pretty much selling for MSRP (please correct me if I'm incorrect about that) and the car being so popular are dealerships still trying to tack on Doc Fees etc etc? I'm in the tri-state area and looking to pick one up by the end of the month. I'm looking to get out the door south of 40k. No sure if its possible

What's the tri state area? They are making a ton of Palisades so spent the time to get a best price. Recently, people were getting below MSRPat least in MD,VA, PA area.
